Michelle Sukow knows how to pivot with a grateful mindset

By now you know that I’m big on gratitude. Years ago, I pivoted and started living my life with a grateful mindset. I’ve never looked back. I learned that finding gratitude in every experience gives you a positive mindset that shapes your path.

Look, pivoting can feel challenging. I’ve been there, I know. But having a grateful mindset will help you get out of your own way and embrace #ThePowerOfThePivot. You’ll realize you’re strong enough and smart enough to create a new path forward, one that’s meant for you.

Today, I’m sharing my tips for embracing a grateful mindset as you pivot.

Learning From Your Experiences

I can’t stress enough how important it is to see your pivots as restarts instead of starting over. I know how overwhelming and how awful it is to think “Ugh! I’m starting my life over.” You don’t need to feel that way. You’re not starting over; you’re doing a restart with where you are. Be grateful for the experiences and knowledge you’ve gained along the way.

You can learn from the things you’ve done wrong and the things you’ve done right. You’re not aimlessly pivoting toward a new path: you’re making informed choices to make your life better. When you focus on the fact that pivoting is an opportunity to grow, it’s so much easier to appreciate the position you’re in.

The Opportunity to Grow

Let’s face it. Many people live their whole lives without taking chances, making changes, or creating their best life. Pivoting allows you to make your life what you want it to be. I’m so grateful that pivoting gave me a kick in the ass to grow, even though it isn’t always easy. I appreciate getting to try a new path and get better results in life. And even if one pivot doesn’t take me quite where I want to be, I can just pivot again.

That’s the great thing about pivoting: you can do it as many times as you want. Every time you pivot, you’re building your strength. You’re taking yourself one step farther out of your comfort zone and learning to deal with change. Focus on how pivoting will make you a stronger and more confident person. Be grateful for the fact that you’re gaining the courage to change what doesn’t serve you well.

A Clearer Path Forward

Michelle Sukow tells you how to pivot with a grateful mindset.

It’s liberating to know you’re no longer wasting time on a path or mindset that isn’t meant for you! It’s easy to find gratitude in pivoting when you realize that your new path is one you’re choosing for yourself and not one you’ve fallen into. This clearer path has less commotion and chaos. It’s more comfortable and comforting because it’s a path you want.

Your new path is the result of the decisions you’re making. A path you choose will make you feel happier, more fulfilled, and more deserving of good things. Be grateful that you get to be the one who’s deciding where this journey goes and where it will take you.
